Sydney is a local news reporter for Patch in New York City covering Downtown Manhattan.
Previously, she was a staff reporter for The Villager newspaper covering Manhattan and a science writer for Newsweek covering climate change, the environment, and other science stories. Her work is also featured in the Miami Herald and ThinkProgress, and she was an intern for The Rachel Maddow Show. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and global public health with a concentration in anthropology from New York University.
Sydney has also worked in New York and Buenos Aires on public health research related to nutrition and obesity. During her time in college, she studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Accra, Ghana, taking classes in journalism, public health, anthropology and Spanish.
