About Me

Sydney is a reporter based in New York City.

She has covered Manhattan’s neighborhood news for The Villager, Downtown Express, Chelsea Now, and Manhattan Express. Previously, she was a science writer for Newsweek covering climate change, the environment, and other science stories. Her work has been featured in the Miami Herald and ThinkProgress, and she was an intern for The Rachel Maddow Show. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and global public health with a concentration in anthropology from New York University.

Sydney has also worked in New York and Buenos Aires on public health research related to nutrition and obesity. During her time in college, she studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina for 10 months and also spent two months in Accra, Ghana for an international reporting program.
